ENERGY OUTREACH SPECIALIST
A graduate of Indiana University, Ben Boettger has been a Peace Corps volunteer in Mongolia and a National Park Service ranger. As a journalist he’s written for newspapers in Vermont, Indiana, and Alaska, where from 2014 to 2018 he reported on local government, energy, environmental issues, and the Cook Inlet oil and gas industry for the central Kenai Peninsula’s regional daily, The Peninsula Clarion.
As an energy outreach specialist, he supports Alaskans seeking to boost democratic control over their energy systems through engagement with the Railbelt electric co-ops. Having grown up in the traditional land of the Miami and Shawnee, he now works on Dena'ina land on the Kenai Peninsula.
