Since our founding on October 21, 1974, AKPIRG has been advocating for the public interest in Alaska – and we have much to celebrate after five decades of advocacy.

Join us at Williwaw Social in Anchorage on November 13, and to help put us on the path toward another 50 years of public interest advocacy in Alaska. Hosted by Anchorage drag artist Golden Delicious, we’ll celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together, eat good food, see old and new friends, and toast to 50 years.

Dinner from El Green Gos, door prizes, a live performance by the legendary Dawn McClain, and silent auction access are included in your ticket.

By participating, you will be contributing to a future with cleaner, more affordable energy, digital equity for rural and urban communities alike, robust language access, transparent and ethical government, and a more accessible and just economic safety net for all Alaskans.

Sharing 50 years of AKPIRG history directly from our archives.

In the summer 2023, AKPIRG collected dozens of boxes of our archives from the UAA Consortium Library and embarked on the exciting and formidable mission to digitize decades worth of AKPIRG history. For months, our staff has been combing through the AKPIRG archives, and learning so much about AKPIRG's history along the way.
