We’re looking for new Board members! Are you excited about our work and want to help make sure our organization has the internal support it needs to continue doing awesome work for the long run? If so, please fill out the application below.
About the Board: The AKPIRG board has seven volunteer board members who all care deeply about our organization’s work. Board members serve three year terms, with the option to stay on the board for four terms total. Participation at each board meeting and on two Board Committees is expected. While there is no expected donation amount for any Board member, it is expected that AKPIRG will be in the top three non-profits you donate to. We have full board meetings every other month for one hour exactly, and Board Committees meet for 1 hour on the off months.
Board selection process: AKPIRG’s Board application period is every year from January through the end of February. AKPIRG’s Development Committee will read all applications and have follow-up calls with folks who have submitted an application through this portal. Selections will be made by April and new Board members will be seated by May. This year, we are hoping to seat three Board members, including two new seats.
Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, queer folks, people with disabilities, single parents, youth, Elders, and immigrants are encouraged to apply.
